Kamal Haasan offers final respects and opens up about Captain Vijayakanth

The entire film industry is shattered by the demise of Captain Vijayakanth, who has been an incredible actor, politician and humanitarian. A huge wave of people including celebrities and politicians gathered to pay last respects to the veteran.

Ulaganayagan and Makkal Needhi Maiam leader Kamal Haasan paid farewell to his dear friend Vijayakanth's body in Chennai Theevu Thidal this morning. The pictures and videos of the same are viral on social media. He met the media after paying homage to Vijayakanth and bid an emotional goodbye to the Puratchi Kalaignar.

Kamal said, "Simplicity, love, labour, friendship - if all these tags are used to define a person, it'll obviously be Vijayakanth. It will perfectly suit him. I knew him long before he tasted stardom. But, he behaved the same way even after attaining stardom. What I like about him is his humility and righteous anger. I am a fan of his anger."

"I think that could be the reason why he did public service. It is said to see the loss of an honest man like him. But, I hope people like him will emerge soon. I am bidding adieu to my dear friend in that hope," added Ulaganayagan. Kamal Haasan has appeared in a cameo role in Captain Vijayakanth's 1986 movie, 'Manakanakku'.
