Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan impressed one and all recently with his views on the reality game show Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi where the media popped him the question to why he was not getting involved in the on-going Eelam Issue.
Talking highly of the new generation, the iconic star aired his support to the students who have organised protests against the violence against Tamils in Sri Lanka. He is of opinion that students, who are generally associated with college or hostel strikes or public fights, have now come forward for a good cause. It is quite impressive to see them taking initiative and organising things so well. Hence Kamal doesnt feel that it is right on his part to get involved with the campaigns, since it will divert the attention from these youngsters and he as a celebrity would get the limelight, which he doesnt want to happen.
I will extend my support only when there is no involvement from a common man. But then, the campaign is going well and fine with these students getting actively involved in it. And when there are such efficient people organising protests then I dont think my association will be necessary, said the Ullaganayagan who feels he is better off being a supporter to them staying out of the frame.
On a lighter note, Kamal also observed that earlier it were politicians who used to be at the back of students, but now times have changed and its the students who are chasing away the politicians.
Kamal also justified that it is not the matter of being a Tamilian to be part of the protest. Its not necessary that only Tamilian should take part in the protest; for that matter any one can be part of the protest, Kamal stated.
Accompanied by Gautami, Kamal won Rs. 50 lakhs on the show.
