Super exciting happenings are taking effect in Tamil cinema now even as the second wave of COVID 19 is showing signs of receding in the state with the daily cases coming under the 5000 mark. One of the biggest breaking news of the year is here which is that Kamal Haasan and Vetrimaaran are uniting for an exhilarating new project.
The additional info is that it will be a big-budget adaptation of an epic novel and will be bankrolled by Gopuram Films. Kollywood is on cloud nine hearing this one and a project involving the legendary actor and the maverick filmmaker will most definitely be something beyond the imagination.
As of now, it is unclear when the Kamal-Vetrimaaran project will be take off as both of them have busy months ahead to catch up for lost time due to the pandemic. Kamal has half of 'Indian 2' directed by Shankar to complete and is also planning to shoot 'Papanasam 2'and 'Vikram' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj back to back.
Vetrimaaran on the other hand is currently giving the finishing touch to his 'Viduthalai' starring Soori, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Menon and Vijay Sethupathi. He is also committed to Suriya's 'Vaadivaasal' produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and another movie with Dhanush. We will have to wait and watch how the two busy bigwigs adjust the time to accommodate this new project.
