Kamal Haasan at the beginning of the first coronavirus lockdown urged is followers and fans to use the time at home constructively. Whether they followed him or not the legendary actor and filmmaker has been involved in dialogues with medical experts and others through video conferencing to raise awareness on the disease as well as measures to revive the economy.

Kamal today through video conferencing press meet has unveiled a new initiative 'Naame Theervu' and has asked volunteers to join him in his measures to combat COVID 19. He pointed to the deaths of the migrant workers who are walking back to their states, the unselfish doctors and medical staff who are toiling day and night to save patients.

Kamal stated that the time is over to criticize the government's action plan against the virus and instead time to realise that we the people are the cure. Firstly he has asked the people to stop thinking that if infected by coronavirus death is certain as history has taught that mankind fought and survived many pandemics.

Kamal in his video has asked the people that to stop Chennai into turning from the capital city of medicine to corona capital they have to join hands and he is the first servant of the movement and has asked others to follow.
