The reunion of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam for the upcoming film 'Thug Life' sparked excitement among the fans. The shooting for the magnum opus has been progressing at a brisk phase since January. The makers revealed today that Simbu is a part of this action saga.
The production houses - Raaj Kamal Films, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies put out an official statement in which they confirmed the addition of STR to the star cast and mentioned the release details. As per the report, 'Thug Life' will hit the cinemas this year. Kamal Haasan will have three releases this year: 'Kalki 2898AD', 'Indian 2' and 'Thug Life'.

"After his last outing Vikram, which was a resounding box office success across the globe, the excitement and anticipation among Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's legion of fans has been at an all-time high ever since his next outing thug life was announced. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the magnum opus marks the reunion of the iconic actor-director duo after their 1987 cult film Nayakan. Comprising of a stellar cast and crew, thug life seems to be getting bigger each passing day and joining the stellar cast is actor Silambarasan TR, which has only piqued the interests of fans further.
Produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, Red Giant Movies, R. Mahendran and Siva Ananth. Thug Life will see its legendary actor-director duo join forces with the inimitable A. R. Rahman, cinematographer Ravi K.
