Kamal Haasan today met the top functionaries of his Makkal Needhi Maiam party in Chennai. The strategy for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Elections 2021 was discussed with the district secretaries, members of administrative and executive committee members.

Regarding the possibility of setting up alliances with other parties, it was decided to rule out both the Dravidian parties ADMK and DMK. Kamal told the gathering that his alliance is with the people and everyone should work hard for victory.

Clear plans were drafted in establishing booth committees for all constituencies, tour plan for Kamal's campaign all over the state and means of funding the election expenses by collecting from the people. A new state of the art van for Kamal's election campaign tour was also seen in the meeting premises.

Kamal's Makkal Needhi Maiam in its maiden test of power in the Parliamentary elections in 2019 did not fare badly garnering 8% and 12% in semi-urban and urban constituency and 3% in the rural areas.
