Kamal Haasan has delivered an all time blockbuster film 'Vikram' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and costarring Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya with Anirudh scoring the music. Since the film already collected in excess of rupees three hundred crores and counting rumours started that the legendary actor will be quitting politics and concentrate full time in his film career.
Kamal Haasan today presided over a massive blood donation drive on behalf of his Makkal Needhi Maiam where he made it clear that he will continue to work in films but will never wind up his political work. He said "The mountain I have to climb is a very tall one and I am, gradually climbing it, my zeal and my courage have not diminished even a bit. The one who went to prison need not be the only type of leader even one who appears on screen can be a competent one."
Kamal said that over four lakh litres of blood has been donated by his Kamal Narpani Mandram started in the year 1986. He requested his fans now to do the same and continue to save lives. He stressed that the people need a leader who is not after money and he himself left alone will earn rupees three hundred crores referring to the collection of 'Vikram' but he wants to serve the public.
The Ulaganayagan said that the film industry is his livelihood and he will earn more money pay proper taxes and pump in the money for the public service of Makkal Needhi Maiam. The legend has made it clear that as rumoured he will not be quitting poltics but will strike a balance between his two worlds.
