Kamal Haasan is travelling to many cities and villages of Tamil Nadu meeting people with the view of strengthening his 'Makkal Neethi Maiam' party. At this juncture Congress leader S. Thirunavukkarasar speaking to newsmen has stated that Kamal when meeting the Congress President Rahul Gandhi had expressed his desire to work with the national party in the coming elections.

Thirunavukkarasar has further stated that even though he welcomes Kamal's interest in working with the Congress he strongly condemns the legendary actor predicting a fallout between his party and the DMK who have a longstanding alliance.

Kamal in a recent interview has however denied that he discussed an alliance with Rahul Gandhi and their meeting was purely one of courtesy.
