As reported by IndiaGliz on Saturday(Read here) the official announcement about 'Indian 2' was made in the grand finale of Big Boss show that was telecast on Saturday night.
Kamal Haasan the host of Big Boss will be teaming up with director Shankar for the second time for the sequel of 'Indian' for which they united for the first time in 1996. The sequel will be produced by popular Telugu producer Dil Raju.
it is to be noted that Kamal Haasan won the National Award for the Best Actor for the third time for his phenomenal acting in 'Indian'.
Many may think that Kamal Haasan has joined the bandwagon of sequels as making sequels has become a trend in Kollywood today with many leading star heroes acting in the sequels of their past blockbusters. But Kamal has been the first to experiment many concepts that would emerge as a trend in Kollywood after many years and the concept of making a sequel is no exception to that rule..
Kamal acted in the first ever sequel film made in Tamil! His 1979 super hit film 'Kalayanaraman' had a sequel titled as 'Jappanil Kalyanaraman'. However both the films had different directors. G.N.Rangarajan was the director of the first film while S.P.Muthuraman directed the sequel which released in 1985.
