Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan and director Shankar have joined hands after 23 years to make the sequel to their blockbuster movie Indian released in 1996, and the sequel Indian 2 was launched in January. After much delays, the movie is now back on track.

It has been said that Indian 2 is set to begin shooting from August 12, and that Kamal Haasan will be joining shoot in September. Actress Kajal Aggarwal who was announced as the female lead is currently undergoing training in Kalaripayattu martial arts.

The movie also stars Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Aishwarya Rajesh, Vidyut Jammwal,Rakul Preet Singh and has music by Anirudh. The latest speculation making rounds is that the team is planning to release Indian 2 on April 14, 2021 on eve of Tamil new year.
