When Kamal Haasan and Shankar came together for 'Indian' in 1996 the film became a blockbuster hit pan India and is still considered as one of the most celebrated cult classics that pioneered ahead of the times computer graphics and make-up effects. The sequel was announced with Kamal and Kajal Agarwal as the lead pair with Lyca Productions bankrolling but sadly after a day of shooting it has been stalled indefinitely.
Rumors started floating that 'Indian 2' is dropped but Shankar is in no mood to give up his pet project and has come up with an innovative plan to get it revived. According to sources the entire screenplay and the special effects needed has been made into a book with pictures to explain the vision clearly and the necessary budget. It is said that a copy of the said book has been submitted to Reliance Entertainment as well as Sun Pictures and very soon one of these corporates is likely to greenlight the mega project.
