This year all the biggies such as 'Valimai', 'RRR', 'Beast' and 'KGF 2' have released and have been met with mixed reviews but raked in big box office figures. Now all eyes are turned on the mother of them all that is 'Vikram' starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
It is already more or less cofirmed that Kamal Haasan is playing a retired cop who may be the titular character of the legend's own film 'Vikram' released in 1996. Now there is word from sources close to the team that Kamal will be appearing in a very young avatar of himself in the film.
According to the buzz a whopping rupees ten crores have been spent of the de-aging process invovled to make the Ulaganayagan look thirty years younger. The technology was recently used to deage Hollywood superstars Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in 'The Irishman' directed by Martin Scorcese. Like always it the thespian who is ushering in one more technological advancement to Tamil cinema adding to many more over the years.
'Vikram' produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Turmeric Media is being released by Red Giant Movies on June 3rd wordwide. The film has music by Anirudh and stars Kamal, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, S. Gayathrie, Shivani Narayanan, Mynaa Nandhini, VJ Maheshwari, Narain and Kalidas Jayaram.
