The legendary film personality and Makkal Needhi Maiam leader Kamal Haasan was admitted to hospital earlier today. He had written to his followers on Twitter "After I returned from the states I had mild cough and when I went for tests it is learned that I am COVID 19 positive. I have isolated myself in the hospital. It is time to realize that the pandemic is not over yet and please be careful."

The Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Porur where the Ulaganayagan is admitted has released an official update on his health. The statement reads "Sri Kamal Haasan is admitted in SRMC for the complaints of lower respiratory tract infecton and fever. He was tested COVID positive. He is on medical management and his condition is stable.

Meanwhile due to his sudden hospitalization Kamal Haasan hosting 'Bigg Boss 5' this weekend is in doubt. Similarly the shooting of his own production 'Vikram' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is also underway in Coimbatore and is unknown whether it will continue wihouth him or be postponed.
