Millions of Kamal Haasan fans were sent into a state of shock yesterday when reports came in that the legend was infected by the coronavirus and is in isolation in his Alwarpet road. The reason for the wildfire news was the Chennai Corporation officials pasting a notice on Kamal's premises that he is under the coronavirus watch.

It was later clarified that Kamal is in good health and had no issues of coronavirus and further that he does not live in the address but uses it as an office for the Makkal Needhi Maiam. The corporation apoligized and pulled down the notice at the Alwarpet residence.

Other reports that came in suggested that actress Gauthami who was in a relationship with Kamal but split from him a couple of years was the reason for the confusion. The 'Devar Magan' actress earlier had gone abroad and returned home and since her passport carried Kamal's address the health officials pasted the warning notice there.

Gautami without pinpointing to the incidence took to Twitter to assure that all is well with her by writing "Gd morning everyone, just wanted 2 let all of you know that I am safe & sound at home. As I have been since my return 2 India 20 days ago. I’m sure all of u r also following the prescribed (& sensible) rules & staying safe. Use this time wisely & positively!
