Kamal Haasan calls on CM

Actor Kamal Haasan called on Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at his Gopalapuram residence on Tuesday.

With his much-awaited Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu not making it to theatres, despite being completed a couple of months ago, speculation was rife that Kamal would seek the Chief Minister's intervention in the matter.

However, talking to mediapersons after the meeting, the actor said, 'It was just a courtesy call. Since I had been abroad during the elections and returned only recently, I could not meet him.' 'I also thanked the Chief Minister for reducing the rent for shooting in the State during the meeting,' he added.
