Kamal Haasan the leader of the Makkal Neethi Maiam party is vehemently attacking the state and the central government policies especially in the handling of the coronavirus pandemic and the decision to reopen state-owned TAMAC wineshops.  First his party filed a case seeking the shutdown of the wine shops and later when the High Court ordered the same the MNM has also gone to the Supreme Court against the TN govt appeal.

In this situation, Kamal Haasan in his own cryptic style has extended his birthday wishes to his political rival.  Written in Tamil the verses go roughly translated as "My sweetest wishes to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. Edappadi Pazhanisamy.  Please make sure that you spread the smile on your face to that of the peoples.  The only way to extend ones life is by getting the best wishes of the people".
