On the day when a fringe outfit called Hindu Makkal Katchi called for the arrest of actor Kamal Haasan, the host of Big Boss Tamil and the contestants of the reality show which allegedly demeans the Tamil culture according to the complainants, the Ulaganayagan met the press and media and answered a range of questions about the Big Boss and also various other issues,
Regarding the demand to arrest him, Kamal said "I am not bound to reply to the group which demands my arrest. But I have full confidence about the law (of my land). Only those who are genuinely affected can ring the bells of judiciary The present system of judiciary knows that very well and I am confident about that. If they want me to be arrested me let that happen. The law will protect me. The justice will protect me."
Asked about the allegations of demeaning Tamil culture, the veteran actor said "I don't want to become naughty and talk about various things that these people have been quiet on. But Big Boss has been on air for eleven years. May be because these guys don't understand Hindi. But the program has also come in Kannada. It seems they don't know Kannada also. But they will understand culture. They know the culture that is common for the nation. But they have to understand the nation first. I don't want to comment about this. These guys liked me when I did 'Dasavatharam'. They don't like when I go in another direction. They don't like when I make 'Viswaroopam'. I cannot stop doing things because of this fear. I want all kinds of audience. I believe these guys are also my fans. The fans who desire to see me behind the bars."
