Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan celebrates his birthday today and this marks the turn of another meaningful year in his life. While the calendar says he is 61, his mind is fresh and energetic like a 16 year old while his body at the 62nd year of birth works extremely hard with the energy level of a 26 year old. This legendary actor, writer, poet, filmmaker, dancer, singer has always been a source of amazement.

This year in Kamal Haasan's professional life has been as eventful as the previous year. Last year he was working on three films Viswaroopam 2', Uttama Villain' and Papanasam' simultaneously. This year started with the release of Uttama Villain' which was celebrated to be the auto-fiction in Tamil cinema. The commercial failure of the film was compensated by the blockbuster success of the family thriller flick Papanasam' in which Kamal played the role of an uneducated but street smart rural family head. The film is one of the genuine super hits of the year which proved that content is always the king.

Thoongavanam' is going to release as the third Kamal treat of the year for this Deepavali. Even before its release Kamal has started work on his next film to be directed by Rajeev Kumar who has earlier collaborated with the star for Chanakyan', the super hit Malayalam thriller flick of 1989.

Kamal has introduced so many new technologies and business models to Tamil cinema. He has started following a new pattern of making films which can be expected to evolve as a new trend in Kollywood in terms of filmmaking in the coming years. The entire shooting of his last two films were wrapped up in less than 40 days each and the star has announced that he is going to make more number of such well-planned quick films which means the star is going to get engrossed in work mode in the coming years resulting in more and more number of films and moments of celebrations for his fans.

At the same time, the growing market for big budget Tamil films and the increasing viability of period films have strengthened the hopes of Kamal Haasan's dream project Marudhanayagam' getting revived. We can expect more films of such grandgruntan scale from the man who has always lead the way for others. Sequels have started finding acceptance among audience and Kamal had started working on the sequel of his blockbuster flick Viswaroopam' a few years back which can be expected to release in 2016.

Kamal is also following a unique style of promoting his films and that may also become a new trend in film marketing. The teasers, trailers and music albums of his films are released without much hype. Kamal is also trying to make films that can be directly released in online platforms along with theatrical release and he will soon achieve doing that thereby opening up new avenues for Tamil film business.

The film industry has always been and will be grateful to a visionary like Kamal Haasan for introducing new concepts at his expense. His tremendous huge following will grow and keep cutting across age groups. The general movie buffs of all generations will respect him as a unparalleled actor and the backbone of so many quality films.

At this moment Indiaglitz wishes Kamal Haasan- one of the most loved and most admired personalities of Indian cinema a Happy Birthday.
