Kamal Haasan's 60th year in cinema was celebrated on Sunday evening as "Ungal Naan" event organized by Raj Kamal Films International at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Isaigniani Ilayaraja treated the crowd to a live concert and the event was graced by Superstar Rajinikanth, Isaipuyal A.R. Rahman, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu and Vadivelu among others.

Thalapathy Vijay could not attend 'Kamal Haasan 60' but sent a message through dad S.A. Chandrasekhar who read it out. Speaking at the occasion SAC praised Kamal for entering politics and urged Rajini to make it fast. He also requested the Thalaivar and the Ulaganayagan to unite for the people and give them a good governance. Chandrasekhar also stated that Rajini and Kamal should give way to their Thambis (brothers) in politics, which the netizens have taken as if he meant Thalapathy Vijay's political aspirations.
