Kalyan Ram is beaming. He says his new film Asadhyudu has done very well, especially in the villages and small towns ---something the industry calls as B and C centers.

Asadhyudu, directed by Anil Krishna, opened in theaters last week.

This revenge drama is full of robust fights and over-the-top action.

Critics have given a mixed review to the film. But though the film may not be in the league of his previous venture Atanokkade, Asadhyudu has it moments and Kalyan may just scrape through.

Kalyan says he was under no illusions about the kind of movie he wanted to make. It had to be action adventure for the mass audience. It turned out to be just that, he says firmly.

Kalyan says the challenge for an actor is cater to the diverse sections of the audience. Atanokkade was meant for the upper crust while Asadhyudu is for more village audience.

Perhaps, one day he will make a film for all of them.
