Kamal Haasan, known for his versatility and captivating screen presence, revealed his excitement for playing the antagonist in Nag Ashwin's highly anticipated sci-fi epic, 'Kalki 2898 AD'. During a recent press conference in Mumbai, which saw the film's producers, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone come together, the 'Vishwaroopam' actor shed light on his character and the allure of playing a villain.

"I always wanted to play a bad man, because the bad guy gets to do all the good things," said Kamal Haasan, drawing laughter from the audience. "The heroes are busy with romantic songs and waiting for the heroine, while the villain can just go ahead and do what he wants. I thought playing the bad guy would be fun."

However, the actor revealed that director Nag Ashwin had a different vision for his character, Supreme Yaskin. "He Nag Ashwin wanted it to be different. I'm almost like a sage in the film, but with a bad idea," he shared, hinting at a nuanced and intriguing portrayal.

Adding to the anticipation surrounding the film, Kamal Haasan shared his initial vision for his character. "I thought I had a fantastic idea, and I hadn't seen any images of the film. So I thought I would dress myself up in such a way that people would turn around and look at me," he said, hinting at a striking visual presence.

Recently, the team released 'The Kalki Chronicles' and we get to see some of the biggest names of Indian cinema sit together and have a chat. The actor also revealed a playful back-and-forth with Amitabh Bachchan regarding prosthetics and costumes, highlighting the camaraderie and creative energy on set.

"I was like, 'I'll do research', and I got to know that, 'Amit ji is doing it [the film]'. Then I thought, I'll come with armour, I was told, 'Prabhas has got that'. I didn't want to be pregnant in the film referring to Padukone's character Sumathi, otherwise, I would've tried that as well. With a good director, even that would've been possible," he quipped, adding a light-hearted touch to the conversation.

As anticipation for 'Kalki 2898 AD' continues to build, Kamal Haasan's portrayal of Supreme Yaskin promises to be a compelling and memorable performance, adding a layer of intrigue and excitement to this already highly anticipated film.
