Prabhas's highly anticipated sci-fi epic, "Kalki 2898 AD," has stormed the box office upon its release, setting new records and captivating audiences worldwide. With an all-India gross of Rs. 115 crores in its opening day, the Nag Ashwin directed film has secured the fourth highest opening day collection of all time, trailing only behind "Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion," "RRR," and "KGF 2."

The film's success is particularly pronounced in South India, with record-breaking numbers in Hyderabad and Telangana. "Kalki 2898 AD" performed exceptionally well in Nizam, overseas, and in urban areas across India, amassing approximately Rs. 16.3 crores in Nizam alone. The film also saw impressive performances in Ceded (Rs. 5.5 crores) and Vizag (Rs. 4.5 crores).

Breaking new ground in North America, "Kalki 2898 AD" achieved a historic feat, grossing nearly $5.8 million on its opening day, including premiere shows, setting a new all-time record for an Indian film in the region. The film also performed remarkably well in the UK and Australia, contributing to massive overseas collections on its opening day.

The Hindi version of "Kalki 2898 AD" generated approximately Rs. 24 crore (nett) in India, while the film underperformed in Karnataka. Despite Kamal Haasan's presence, the film collected around Rs. 4 crore (nett) in Tamilnadu.

The story of "Kalki 2898 AD" revolves around Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter seeking a better life in the Complex, who crosses paths with Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) and SU-M80 (Deepika Padukone). The film also features a stellar cast including Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, the ruler of the Complex, and boasts a host of cameos from prominent stars like Mrunal Thakur, Anna Ben, Vijay Devarakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Brahmanandam.

With initial positive word-of-mouth fueling its momentum, "Kalki 2898 AD" is on track to reach the coveted Rs. 500 crore mark at the Indian box office, further solidifying its position as a cinematic phenomenon.
