The big eyed sweet girl Swathi came with a musical treat and this time she has been keen on proving her mettle as an actress. Here she is with  her new venture and whether she is successful in her attempt or not, let us see.

Story

A known tale, the story begins with the hardworking and talented girl Sreya (swati) who works in an audit firm. She lives along with her mother and is from a middle class background. Though she is in the firm, her heart lies in singing and she wants to become a singer. Her goal is to work one day with none other than Chennai Mozart A R Rahman. So she joins a hotel as a singer and the story takes a turn when this is visited by a noted classical singer Rao (vikram gokhale). He identifies the flaws in Sreya's singing and gives her his piece of mind. Sreya decides to take this as a challenge and starts learning under him. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Swathi has come up with an exceptional performance and her humor side was good while the sentimental side was not well received. Kamal Kamaraju has improved his physique in a big way but then he is yet to improve on his dialogue delivery and body language. Tanikella was impressive while Vikram Gokhale was quite passive. Delhi Rajeshwari was just okay and others did their bit to contribute.

Technical aspects

The presentation of the movie was neat while the narrative was weak. The dialogues were clean, the script was alright but then it is the screenplay which played a major spoilsport. Even the music was a major letdown given the fact that this was a musical. Editing was required especially during the second half. Costumes and art department made their presence felt.

Director's portrayal

The director had a regular storyline and also he could not come up with a convincing screenplay. Added to that, there was a passive approach to his style of movie making and this kind of took away the momentum. Some of the sequences were quite haphazard and he has failed to handle the script deftly.

Critic's view

The film touches base with some of the classics made by K Viswanath but then it is miles away from the class and style of those movies. While the first half goes about with a fair share of comedy and lighter moments, the second half is completely off track and unwanted sequences and drag causes the movie to become a bit boring during the key scenes. However, the climax was engaging. Overall, the film fails to keep the audience engaged and if the screenplay was worked then it could have been a lot better.

Verdict

Disappointing!!!
