After playing a strong supporting role in 'Madras' and the negative role in 'Urumeen', Kaliayarasan bagged a role in Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film 'Kabali' directed by Ranjith. Now with 'Raja Manthiri' this young talent has been elevated as the lead hero.

'Raja Manthiri' set in a village backdrop is touted to be a family entertainer that deals with love, relationships and friendship. The film is being directed by Usha Krishnan. who had worked as the associate of director Suseenthiran in 'Pandiyanadu' and 'Jeeva'.

Actress Shalin who had turned spotlights in God`s own country with her performance as child artist in more than 20 films makes her Tamil debut playing the female lead in this movie.

Kaali Venkat who is getting strong as a comedy based supporting artist with his array of films like Thegidi`, Mundasupatti`, Irudhi Suttru`, Miruthan` and Mapla Singam` plays a pivotal role in the film as the brother of Kalaiyarasan. Bala Saravanan of Thirudan Police` and Darling` fame will be heading the comic bandwagon of actors in the film.

The film`s ensemble of supporting cast includes Nadodigal` Gopal, Saravana Sakthi, Kayal Perara, Super Good Subramani, Vaishali, Meenachi, Rindhu Ravi, Raja Pandi and Anandhi.

After delivering super hit songs for Sethupathi`, Justin Prabhakaran is scoring music for the film.

P.G. Muthaiah takes care of cinematography and he has also co-produced this film.

V. Mathiyalagan and R Ramya have produced Raja Manthiri` under the banner of Etcetera Entertainment and Auraa Cinemas will be releasing it in theaters.

The shooting and post-production works of this film has been already wrapped up and the official announcements pertaining to release date would be made shortly.
