The postmortem of Kalabhavan Mani's mortal remains was done at the Thrissur Medical college and his body has been presented for public viewing. Celebrities and the public has been thronging to the venue to pay him last respects. Earlier, cine stars including Dileep and directors like Lal Jose and Siddique had visited the hospital as soon as they heard the news.

Police have filed an FIR as they doubt that the death was an unnatural one. methanol content was found along with the alcohol he took. The outhouse where Kalabhavan Mani and friends took the drinks has been sealed off and a special investigating team will be investigating the death.
