This actor escapes classification: He’s neither the loathsome villain nor the endearing comedian. And now, Kalabhavan Mani is all set to become hero.

Surprised? Sure as hell we are! The actor is all set to don the greasepaint as the lead actor in a film to be directed by director Samy.

The director, with controversy as his middle name, earlier made ‘Mirugam’, with Aadhi and Padmapriya in the lead. And now, he is doing a film ‘Sarithiram’ with Rajkiran as the hero. Kalabhavan Mani plays an important part in ‘Saritihram’ as well.

Kalabhavan Mani, the man who got famous in Kollywood as Chiyaan’s villain in ‘Gemini’, is currently acting in ‘Modhi Vilaiyadu’, apart from the Rajini-starrer ‘Endhiran’. In fact, reports have it that Mani constantly had Ash in splits with his histrionics on the set of ‘Endhiran’.

Following these films, the actor is said to take on his project with Samy as the director. Here’s hoping he entertains us as a hero as much as he did as a supporting character.
