Six friends of Kalabhavan Mani are to undergo a lie detection test to prove their innocence. Kalabhavan`s untimely death turned mysterious when his family expressed foul play and doubted his close aides and colleagues who were with him in "Paddi" an outhouse constructed by him for revelry and artistic voyages.

Two actors who attended his booze party at the time of his death also got shrouded in suspicion. All those who were there with him during the last hours are yet to come out of the suspicious glare of the public and his family members.

The mover for lie detection test was disclosed in the report by the Police to the Human Rights Commission. As per the report, the police did not receive clear cut evidence to prove it as a culpable homicide or suicide. The report by Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad traced methyl alcohol in the actor`s blood sample while forensic lab report from Kochi mentioned the presence of chlorpyrifos, a pesticide in the viscera sample taken. This contradicting factor added more confusion and resulted in Mani`s family demanding a CBI enquiry into the death and the CM of Kerala granting approval. Now proceedings are going on in handing over the case to CBI.
