Mollywood star Tovino Thomas' much-awaited movie 'Kala' is all set to hit the big screens. Though the release date is yet to be officially announced, the makers of the movie have confirmed that the movie will have a theatrical release this month, after the government lifted the ban on the second shows in theatres. Meanwhile, the movie cleared the censor formalities with 'A' certificate.

Touted to be a thriller, the movie is said about on a ‘man vs wild’ topic set in the background of 1997. It may be remembered that the movie hit the headlines after Tovino suffered internal injuries while filming for one of the action scenes. The shoot halted midway and the team resumed the shoot after a month.

'Kala' helmed by ‘Adventures of Omanakuttan’ of Rohit VS, has Tovino playing the character named Shaji along with Ayal Njanalla actress Divya Pillai essaying the role of his wife, Vidya. The movie will mark Rohith’s third directorial after ‘Adventures of Omanakuttan’ and ‘Iblis’. Actors Lal, Divya Pillai, Aarish and ‘Pathinettam Padi’ fame Moor are playing pivotal roles in the movie. Produced by Siju Mathew and Navis Xaviour under the banner of Juvis Productions, the movie is scripted by Yadhu Pushkaran and Rohith VS.
