'Kakoos' director Divya Bharathi arrested

Divya Bharathi is a documentary film director who has recently tackled the subject of the plight of manual scavengers which is being praised by many. The police today arrested Divya Bharathi in connection with a seven year pending case.
In the year 2009, a student died of snake bite at the Dalith hostel and Divya joined other students in a protest in Madurai seeking compensation for his family. She has been granted conditional bail ordered to sign at the local police station for one week.
