This film by a debutante director received a National award even before its theatrical release. After it hits the screens it not only received thunderous appreciations, but also broke the adage that award winning films would not rake in the moolah.

We are referring to Kakka Muttai` which is running to packed houses in the all centers across Tamil Nadu. The film has already achieved a well deserved entertainment tax, exemption granted by the Tamil Nadu state government.
