In a recent media interaction, seasoned actress Kajol talked about how the rise of OTT services has improved the quality of films/shows in our country. Back in the 90s and 2000s filmmakers used to focus on the appearance and aesthetic aspect of actors instead of their ability to act but after the OTT revolution, skilled actors have started to get their dues.
Talking about this, Kajol told Pinkvilla, “You have people who are genuinely fabulous actors getting a stage and being able to show exactly what they are capable of, and becoming stars in their own right despite the fact that they don’t have a 24 inches waistline and a 36 inches chest or a 46 inches chest."
Kajol then went on to talk about the social media culture has affected the dynamics of filmstars and their fans. She said, "Most people put their entire lives on social media and are doing only that one thing 24 hours. Half the time they are on screen, half the time they are on social media. If you can see somebody on social media, why will you to go to the screen to watch them.”
