Actor Karthi had acted in the movie Kaithi, which was the second direction venture of Lokesh Kanagaraj and the movie which was released in Diwali 2019 became a superhit venture. Kaithi went on to collect more than 100 crores and became the first movie in Karthi's career to enter the league.

It was recently revealed that Dream Warrior Pictures which produced Kaithi will be entering Bollywood with the Hindi remake of Kaithi, which will be produced in association with Reliance Entertainment, and now, the official announcement on the lead and the release date has arrived.

Kaithi's Hindi remake will have actor Ajay Devgn playing Karthi's role from the original and the movie which is yet to be titled will release on February 12, 2021. Kaithi remake is also expected to have Lokesh Kanagaraj as the director, and official updates on the director and crew are to be revealed shortly.
