Actor Karthi had recently given a huge hit with his Diwali release Kaithi, which was released on October 25. Released along with Vijay starrer Bigil directed by Atlee, Kaithi directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Dream Warrior pictures released on the same day in Telugu.

Kaithi also stars Narain, George Maryan, Vatsan, Kanna, Harish Uthaman, Arjun Das and the movie had music by Sam CS. The movie received good reviews from critics and audience and grossed more than 100 crores. Now, in just 30 days since its release, the movie is out on OTT platform, and there have been concerns raised by netizens over this.

In response to the tweets against the early release of Kaithi, Producer SR Prabhu tweeted "I see lot of genuine concerns over the 30 day window for films in OTT while running successfully in BO. Theatrical audience will reduce eventually if we continue this trend!? Yes! But, piracy & less terms from 3rd week can be compensated for producers only through this! #Kaithi".
