Lokesh Kanagaraj the most wanted filmmaker in the country was fully focussed on the shooting of his current project 'Leo' starring Thalapathy Vijay, Trisha and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. The filming was wrapped up recently and the extensive postproduction work is underway.
After a long time Lokesh attended a private college function in Coimbatore where he spoke at length about his journey as a filmmaker. As expected students flooded him with requests for updates on all his upcoming films.
Lokesh revealed that after the release of 'Leo' on October 19th he will move on to a biggie. Though he didnt reveal anything about the project it is common knowledge that it is indeed Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 171'. The ace director also made it clear that post that he will complete the long overdue 'Kaithi 2' starring Karthi as Dilli.
Now the news has come in that Lokesh and producer S.R. Prabhu recently held talks about the project. According to sources it has been decided to write the screenplay in such a way that Suriya will appear as the iconic villain Rolex and have direct confrontation with Dilli. Karthi gave voice over as Dilli In Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' which is part of the LCU. Similarly in the climax Arjun Das and Harish Uttaman name the prime enemies of their gang namely Vikram and Dilli.
So going by these latest developments it is more or less confirmed that the charismatic siblings, Suriya and Karthi will finally star together and that too in the top director Lokesh's vision. Filming is expected to begin for 'Kaithi 2' in early 2025 and a festive release date the same year has been planned.Karthi is currently awaiting the release of 'Japan' directed by Raju Murugan on Diwali this year. He is shooting for an untitled film directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. On the other hand Suriya's 'Kanguva' directed by Siruthai Siva is nearing completion and he will next star in 'Suriya 43' directed by Sudha Kongara
