Popular playback singer Kailash Kher is known across languages. The 49-year-old singer, who has been honoured with Padma Shri, is known for singing 'Pandagala Digi Vachavu' in Prabhas' 'Mirchi', 'Enduko Enduko' in Pawan Kalyan-Venkatesh's 'Gopala Gopala', 'Kaun Hai Woh' in 'Baahubali', 'Vachaadayyo Saami' in Mahesh Babu's 'Bharat Ane Nenu', 'Yeda Poyinado' in Jr NTR's 'Aravindha Sametha', among other Telugu hits. His discography is replete with several Bollywood hits as well.
The news is that Kailash was on Sunday reportedly attacked by two individuals while singing at the closing ceremony of Hampi Utsav at Hampi in Karnataka. As per ANI, the police suspect that the men were angry at the feted singer for not singing Kannada songs.
Recently, Tollywood playback singer and folk singer Mangli was also reportedly attacked by some individuals during the same event for addressing the crowds in Kannada. Mangli, the singer of 'Saranga Dariya' and other hits, however, clarified that she was not attacked. She, in fact, thanked the crowds for encouraging her.
