On the occasion of actor-politician Suresh Gopi's birthday, which was a week ago, the makers of his upcoming 250th movie unveiled the motion poster that went viral on social media. The motion poster gave a glimpse of the mass hero's character Kaduvakunnel Kuruvachan in the movie.
While the works for the movie have already begun, on Thursday, the Ernakulam district court has stayed the shooting of 'SG 250' after a plea was filed by Jinu Abraham. The scriptwriter of 'Kaduva', which is set to be directed by Shaji Kailas with Prithviraj in the lead, approached the High Court citing that he felt the Suresh Gopi film was plagiarised from his script 'Kaduva.
In the petition, Jinu said that he felt the movie to be similar to the one he wrote for 'Kaduva' and if there are no copyright violations, he has no objections. He said that including the name of the character, all scenes of 'Kaduva' were registered as per the Copyright Act. With this, the court ordered a stay for the film's shooting and promotion on social media.
Suresh Gopi's 250th movie is being directed by Mathews Thomas Plamoottil, who was the assistant director of Jinu Joseph. The movie produced by Tomichan Mulakuppadam under the banner of Mulakuppadam Films.
On the other side, Prithviraj's 'Kaduva' is being directed by Shaji Kailas, who is making his comeback after a long while. The movie is being jointly produced by Listin Stephen and Prithviraj.
