Rave parties do happen in Chennai in five star hotels and private houses belonging to the rich and famous. However due to the coronavirus pandemic there are restrictions for gatherings. The Chennai police got a tip off on Monday that rave parties are conducted regularly at a luxurious bungalow in the Kannathur area.

The police raided the said bungalow and found that around fifteen women and an equal number of men were enjoying themselves with costly liqour, dancing and other activities. It was then found that actress Kavithashri is the one who rented the bungalow and converted it into a party house and was charging rupees 1999/- for men every night but gave free entry to women. The police arrested the actress and also sealed the premises and registered a case.

Kavithashri is famous for her role as a ruthless cop in Shankar's 'Kadhalan' that starred Prabhu Deva, Nagma and Vadivelu. She has also acted in several other films as a junior artiste.
