Kadhal Kudil is the song you never got to hear in Vijay’s ‘Bairavaa’. The film’s composer Sathosh Narayanan however released the song as a special birthday gift for lyricist Vivek who had penned the lyrics for the movie.
Kadhal Kudil starts like any other melody, smooth and simple in the beginning slowly etching a deeper tone as the song progresses. An almost negotiable piano accompaniment readies the track for the following Carnatic instrumental backgroud that embraces the song ever so lightly and not overboard.
‘Naazhai suriyan ezhuthum kavithaiyil engal peyargalum irukum’. .. ‘Ezhaiyin Vayitril Irangiya Unavu Ivai pol sumandhom engalin kanavu’. Lines like these show us that lyricist Vivek was in good form when he wrote it. As much as an air of melancholy lingers over the song, there is also a message of hope and positivity. Not to mention the poignant veena portions that add texture to this beautiful,mesmerising rendition.
