Looks like Kollywood is on an exchange deal with Bollywood in terms of actors as well as films. While a host of Hindi films are being remade in Tamil ('3 Idiots', 'Dabangg' etc), the Hindi industry on its part is reciprocating.
According to sources, popular director Vikramaditya Motwane, whose last film 'Udaan' created waves in Cannes, is planning to remake Balaji Sakthivel's 'Kadhal', produced by Shankar, in Hindi.
It is said that the film will be jointly produced by Ekta Kapoor and filmmaker Padam Kumar's wife Meenu. Also, we learn that young actor Prateik Babbar has been approached to play the lead role, played by Bharath in Tamil.
'Kadhal', which hit the screens in 2004, is a simple yet striking love story, which talked about the relationship between a school going daughter of an influential man and a two-wheeler mechanic. The film's climax left an impact with the audience and it was one of the much talked about in the recent years.
