'Kadaisi Vivasayi' is a rural feel good drama helmed by the acclaimed director M Manikandan. It stars the late actor Shri Nallandi, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi and many others. We already informed you that this movie bagged the Best Feature Film in Tamil at the 69th National Film Awards. Now, director Manikandan put out a heartfelt thanks note over the award win.

Director M Manikandan's note read:

"Dear All, I am extremely happy to learn that my film 'Kadaisi Vivasayi', which was celebrated by both the people and the critics alike, has won two National Awards at the 69th National Film Awards 2023.

I thank the members of the jury for bestowing this huge honour upon my film. The awards will, without doubt, prove to be a motivating factor to make many more such films.

At this juncture, I wish to remember my film's protagonist, the late Nallandi sir, who, despite his old age, acted tirelessly in my film. He breathed life into his character and made people celebrate the film.

My heartfelt thanks also go to the people of the village who enabled me to make this film and to the production houses Vijaysethupathi Productions and 7CS Entertainments, which helped me take this film to the masses around the world.

I wish to extend my wholehearted gratitude to Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, who not only acted in the film, but also played a crucial part in enabling me to make this film.

I wish to equally thank all the members of my unit, without whom this film wouldn't be what it is.

Last but not the least, I wish to thank the media, which took this film to the people and all those who have been congratulating us for the honour. Thank you all once again for your love.

With love and regards, M.Manikandan" (sic).

Kadaisi Vivasayi had music composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The story revolves around the 80-year-old farmer Mayandi and the divine man Ramaiah. While the former is falsely accused in a police case, the latter is on a spiritual journey to reinvent himself. Though the film is a box office failure, it earned a cult status among the fans after its digital release.
