Kabir Khan on being asked to go to Pakistan

In current times, soical media has bridged the gap between celebrities and their fans. It has become a place of interaction and a marketing tool for films but just like everything else, social media also has a negative side to it. It allows people to be harsh and toxic to people without facing any consequences. Filmmaker Kabir Khan recently shared how netizens have often asked him to go to Pakistan.

Speaking at Ideas of India Summit, Kabir said, "One couldn't say to you in person about what they felt ten years ago out of respect and love but today there is no responsibility of owning your own words. It does feel bad. But that is the reality we are living in. I have realised the toxicity or negative impact of social media is more than the positive impact."

He further added, "My name is Khan and (hence I am told) 'Go to Pakistan'. And I have been to Pakistan once and Lakshar said go back to India, so I am neither here nor there. If you show stories, then it evokes every kind of emotion and it is okay."

Kabir is known for films like 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', 'Kabul Express' and recently released '83'.
