Seasoned actor Kabir Bedi is often in news about his newly launched memoir 'Stories I Must Tell'. In it, he talks about his experiences of devoting his life to a craft, working in multiple film industries around the world and things he learned along the way. Kabir tends to believe that actors and celebrities enjoy and very special position in the society and they should use it to raise awareness about issues which need betterment.
He told a news outlet, "Celebrities have the potential to impact and change people’s lives for the better, that is a huge gift and it should be used. I firmly believe in giving back, you make a life by giving." Kabir himself is associated with several awareness campaigns. He helps visually impaired people and slum dwelling children among other things.
People in India have a certain fanaticism towards celebs which can be used for collective good. Kabir says, "People are fascinated by celebrities and I feel celebrities should use their popularity and reach to spread awareness in causes and campaigns that they believe in. It’s not possible for them to support every cause but celebrities do need to choose the ones they will support.”
