Kabali's 150 minutes of run time hasn't gone down well with many. The gangster flick has had a mixed response from day one, never mind the fact that it shook all box office records in terms of the first day collections.

The news is that, in view of the feedback from different sections of audiences, the makers have decided to chop off the film by at least 12 minutes. It's not clear whether this will be only for the Telugu version or the Tamil one as well. In all likelihood, the Tamil version won't have that much of trimming.

The new, trimmed version of the movie will take effect from Monday onwards. Meanwhile, many commentators are posting positive reviews pertaining to Kabali's political content on social media. They are congratulating director Pa.Ranjith for doing thorough research before portraying the situation of Malaysian Tamils.
