If you thought the records set by Kabali's teaser are not enough source of publicity for the most-awaited movie, here is another source of publicity, which the movie may not need in the South, but definitely so in the North Indian cities. AirAsia India, Kabali's official airline partner, has re-branded aircraft "with a livery dedicated to the most-awaited movie of the year," to quote the company's statement.
"The aircraft will be flying across the AirAsia India network of destinations spanning Bengaluru, New Delhi, Goa, Pune, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Guwahati, Imphal, Vizag and Kochi," it has been quoted as saying.
In Kabali, you will see in-film branding dedicated to the airlines operator. Probably, Rajini will fly in AirAsia in the movie, whose story is based in Malaysia.
'Only a Superstar like Rajinikanth demands such popularity and fame, breaking the barriers of age and geography. We are thrilled beyond words to see such excitement surrounding Kabali from the fans and brands that have associated with us. We look forward to seeing the reactions of our fans once the movie releases,' the producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu has been quoted as saying by a national daily.
Sreedhar Pillai, the senior film commentator, has described the promotions as "the mother of all movie promotions". A Twitter handle from Rajini's die-hard fans says, "Kabali is all set to paint the skies red with us." Another tweet said, "Neruppuda (Nippu ra in Telugu) which means 'it's fire,' photos released by Air Asia show the Kabali-themed aircraft glowing like embers."
