Superstar Rajinikanth has received the Padma Vibhushan Award from Pranab Mukharjee, the Honorable President of India in an award ceremony held in New Delhi today.
The Superstar had boarded the flight to the National Capital from Chennai airport earlier this morning. He was thronged by reporters and mediapersons in the airport premises.
Quizzed about the release of his upcoming film Kabali, Rajinikanth replied that the film directed by Pa.Ranjith and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu will be hitting the screens by the last week of May or the first week of June.
This puts to rest the rumors doing rounds for the past few days that the film's release has been postponed to July.
Touted to be an underworld flick, Kabali stars Rajinikanth as an aged don, while Radhika Apte plays his wife. Dhanshika, Dinesh, Kalaiyarasan, Kishore, John Vijay, Riythvika and many others are doing important roles.
Santhosh Narayanan has handled the musical score. The audio and teaser releases are expected to happen soon.
