It's known that a distributor of 'Lingaa' recently moved the Madras High Court, pleading that the Court order a stay on the release of 'Kabali' until the dues of Rs. 89 lakh related to Rajini's previous film have been cleared. Causing a lot of anxiety to many was the Court's decision to adjourn the case till today. Meanwhile, a notice was issued to some concerned stakeholders.

The news is that the Court has not admitted the plea of the plaintiff. In its directive, it has said that the Court in its wisdom can't link the outstanding issues pertaining to 'Lingaa' to 'Kabali'. Thus, it said, the release of 'Kabali' can't be stayed.

This comes as a huge relief to the makers, distributors and exhibitors of the film. Besides, the fans are happy that their wait will be ending.
