Pa.Ranjith, the director of 'Kabali', is known for being politically vocal.  When Dalit leader Jignesh Mewani recently won in the Gujarat legislative assembly elections, he congratulated the youth leader in the language of a fellow comrade. 

Latest, he has thrown his weight behind a social initiative named 'The Casteless Collective'. Currently making 'Kaala' with Superstar Rajinikanth, Ranjith was referred to as a 'Dalit filmmaker' by sections of media when 'Kabali' released in 2016.
