From minute one, sorry, second one, the teaser of Kabali has been nothing short of a sensation. In fact, a tsunami. No wonder that it went on to create records within hours of its release. "Rajinikanth`s Kabali teaser has broken the existing YouTube record of Shah Rukh Khan`s Dilwale trailer, which garnered 3.6 million hits in 24 hours. It also beat the record set by the Tamil film, Theri, which got 2.2 million views in 24 hours," Sreedhar Pillai, the senior observer, noted some weeks ago.

Well, Rajini has only been ruling the roost on Internet. The records have only been repeated. Today, it becomes not a biggest, but the biggest one. The news is that the Tamil teaser has crossed 2 crore views! This is the highest-ever for an Indian movie.

"Proud moment! A record that no other Indian movie has done," producer Kalaippuli S Thanu has said, sharing the figure of 20 million views.

Note that this is the record only of the Tamil teaser. The Telugu version's teaser, too, has been registering a phenomenal success.

Come July 1, this pre-release hype might well translate into unprecedented openings for this Pa.Ranjith directorial. Can BO wait for being scorched?
