The first full length film on a native game `Kabaddi' in Kannada has set some standards. Firstly the narration is pretty good. Secondly the debut director interspersed the love and game to win his game in life. `Kabaddi' a very popular game in Karnataka that has national prominence today is utilized effectively. The presence of Arjuna Award winner for `Kabaddi' in the national level a native of Karnataka BC Ramesh gives extra edge to the cinema. The dialogues of Uttar Kannada and Mandya are a real treat to hear.
Set in the backdrop of a village the film revolves around `Kabaddi' game and `Love' aspect between Praveen and Priya that faces lot of strictures. A coolie working in rice mill Praveen not educated enough is spotted by Kabaddi coach Beeresh (Kishore). He is given essential training. His friends are rounded off by police on a murder charge. Rs.5 lakh is need as security bond that is served a gambler because he loves to gamble in the game of `Kabaddi'. The play this time in the national level is in the absence of coach Beeresh. Praveen win the game and also the love. Thanks to the final scoring made by BC Ramesh the national player in `Kabbaddi'.
Praveen in his first attempt is very natural. Since he is also state level Kabaddi player the role has been diligently handled. Priyana bit fat but has done a very well in debut. She has great future ahead. The dubbing artist to Priyanka role gives full life to the role. Kishore is superb again. Avinash shines in a small presence.
The great master of Kannada cinema in music Hamsalekha has given a musical treat. Three songs are foot tapping. Cinematography Ananth Urs is equally good.
This is worth watching.
Scoring 8/10
