It may be a less known fact that he has won four Filmfare Awards under the Best Background Score category for 'Swades', 'Guru', 'Jodha Akbar' and 'Legend of 'Bhagat Singh'.
With four National Awards as The Best Music Director to his credit, we wish Rahman wins an award under the newly added category of National Award for the Best Background Score very soon.
The Indian Government has crowned him with the Civilian honours of Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. There is no doubt that the Oscar Nayagan definitely deserves the Bharat Ratna mainly for making Indians proud in the International music arena.
